Medical Camps
Marthoma Mission Hospital, Chungathara, organized a series of deeply impactful, community-centred programmes throughout 2025. Among these initiatives, the most significant was our sustained medical support for the landslide-affected regions of Chooralmala and Mundakkai in Wayanad.
Our involvement began in August 2024, soon after the devastating landslides, and has continued with unwavering commitment. With visits conducted almost every month, our dedicated team consisting of doctors, nurses, and support staff, has been providing comprehensive outpatient care for both adults and children. Each camp includes focused monitoring of blood pressure and blood glucose levels, along with a fully equipped mobile pharmacy that offers free consultations and essential medications.
Between January 3, 2025 and September 9, 2025, we conducted approximately nine medical camps in these regions, ensuring continuity of care for vulnerable families still recovering from the disaster. These sustained efforts reflect our mission to stand with the community long after the immediate crisis has passed, offering reliable healthcare, compassion, and hope.
Dedicated Senior Citizens Fellowship Camps were held on 1 April 2025 and 25 October 2025, with the aim of identifying unmanaged chronic illnesses such as hypertension and diabetes, facilitating timely interventions, and providing reassurance to the elderly.
These camps focused on the specialties of general medicine and orthopaedics, offering all blood investigations and X-rays at discounted rates, along with free blood uric acid testing and bone density estimation.
The medical camp conducted on 16 March 2025 in collaboration with the Light to Life Mission at Uppada was another successful event by our hospital. Light to Life Mission primarily works to support underprivileged children in rural India by providing essential educational resources and holistic developmental support. Our camp focused on paediatrics and general medicine, offering free medical consultations, especially for children, along with the distribution of free medicines.
